ST Telemedia Supports Turtle Conservation Project in Malaysia’s Terengganu
ST Telemedia is pleased to sponsor an initiative by the Singapore Rover Scouts to conserve sea turtles. The youth expedition project, known as "Project Orion", was carried out in partnership with the Worldwide Fund for Nature (Malaysia) and held in Setiu, a coastal village in Terengganu, Malaysia from 20 June to 5 July 2009. Participants helped in mangrove reforestation projects, beach cleaning and patrolling, and assisting in the repair works of the World Wildlife.

ST Telemedia Provides Infrared Fever Screening System for Laos
Helping to play a small part in the Lao Government's Pandemic Influenza H1N1 prevention measures, ST Telemedia donated an Infrared Fever Screening system for Wattay International Airport in Lao PDR. Officiating the presentation ceremony held at the Wattay International Airport in May 25 2009, were H.E Cheuang Sombounkhan, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office, H.E. Jeyaraj Benjamin William, Singapore’s Ambassador to Lao PDR.

Chinese New Year Luncheon at St.John's Home for Elderly Person
Residents at the St. John's Home for the Elderly were treated to an early Lunar New Year Celebration by ST Telemedia staff on January 16, 2009. Lifting the spirits of the residents with songs and dance, the memorable event ended with the presentation of "Hong Pao" (Red Packets - symbolising good fortune) to the elderly folks.

Riding for the Disabled Association
ST Telemedia has been sponsoring 2 horses for RDA over the years. They are Chester and Fraggle. Chester is only being used every Monday morning session and always gives a good healthy buck and has a canter as soon as he gets out on the lunge, while Fraggle loves to trot and has so given lots of children a fast and fun ride. Fraggle always behave herself like a true lady.

Jakarta Flood Relief
In February 2007, Jakarta was hit with the worst floods in five years. ST Telemedia, our group companies and employees donated a total of Rupiah 710 Million to Solidaritas Istri Kabinet Indonesia Bersatu (Indonesian Ministers' Wives Club), Ikatan Dokter Indonesia  (Indonesian Medical Association) and Indonesia's Ministry of Health through the Singapore Embassy in Jakarta. The donations allowed the organisations to aid flood victims, provided emergency and relief aids, medical services and medical supplies.

Cambodia Orphanage Sponsorship
In Cambodia, we have been sponsoring 30 orphans in an orphanage called Hope Village Prey Veng under the Singapore-based Operation Hope Foundation.

Indonesia Tsunami Relief
The Indonesian province of Aceh was one of the areas that was devastated by the Tsunami tidal waves in 2004. Our group of companies and employees contributed financial and relief aid, medical supplies and services to victims, including building of two new elementary schools in Aceh.

ST Telemedia sponsors the premiere night of Singapore''s first locally produced docu-comedy "Mad about English" 
On 4 August, staff and family members of ST Telemedia were treated to an exclusive premiere of the locally produced movie “Mad About English”. Joining the pre-movie reception hosted by our Chairman, Mr Tan Guong Ching, at the foyer of Lido theatre were the movie director cum producer, Lian Pek and guests of ST Telemedia which included the Ministry of Information, Communications & the Arts, Media Authority of Singapore (MDA), Information Authority of Singapore (IDA) and the National Library Board.

The dinner was held at the Jewel Box, Mount Faber in June 2008. More than 100 regulators, officials and industry participants of the Asean countries, including their dialogue partners, China & Japan, had a valuable evening of networking and interaction.
