Global Crossing Wins “Users’ Choice” Award at the World Communication Awards 2009
London, UK, Thursday, November 26, 2009 -- Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider, today announced it has won the World Communication Award (WCA) for “Users’ Choice” at a ceremony last night at the London Hilton, Park Lane, in front of more than 500 communications industry CEOs, senior executives, influencers and decision makers. The ‘Users Choice’ Award was voted on by telecoms end user groups and Total Telecom readers.

“The WCA award acknowledges that Global Crossing is continuing to realise and improve upon a great customer experience – and that the results of this are being noticed by our customers and the wider telecommunications industry,” said Global Crossing’s Chief Technology Officer Anthony Christie. “Global Crossing fosters a culture where customers are the highest priority.”

Christie continued: "As a company we ask customers to define what the customer experience means to them and then implement changes, programmes and technology based on this input and collaboration. It’s an effective methodology: ‘Ask. Listen. Act. Learn.’ We know it works because about 70 percent of our growth comes from existing customers."

The WCA recognise the companies and individuals responsible for the innovations, achievements and great new services that are helping to build tomorrow’s industry. The Awards are open to all communications providers, whether they are traditional carriers, service providers, multimedia content providers or other organisations providing communication services.

Global Crossing has enjoyed a string of accolades relating to its superior customer experience over the last year. Market research firm Telemark Services’ recent 2009 Crystal Ball report gave Global Crossing the highest percentage of customers “willing to recommend their current provider” among all the network services providers surveyed.

Commissioned research for 3Q 2009, conducted by KS&R, indicates that 96 percent of enterprise customers were satisfied and 64 percent were “very” satisfied. Results from this survey were consistent with the Telemark Crystal ball report as Global Crossing received a “likely to recommend” score of 7.9 compared to 7.0 for competitors. The KS&R research also showed that Global Crossing has a competitive advantage across six important customer-facing categories including Overall Satisfaction, Account Support Team, Customer Service Center, Service Activity Support, Billing Support and Overall Value.
