Award affirms Global Crossing's customers’ satisfaction with services

São Paulo, Brazil, Wednesday, December 9, 2009 -- Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider, today announced it was presented with the "Best Latin America Corporate Services Provider of the Year" award at the 2009 Frost & Sullivan Latin America Best Practices Excellence Banquet, held last Thursday at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in São Paulo.

The award recognizes Global Crossing for its strategic focus, increased name recognition, revenue growth, strong operational results and improvement in customer satisfaction and loyalty levels.

“It is a great honor for Global Crossing to be recognized in this way.  At Global Crossing, we strive to provide unparalleled service to our customers.  Our ongoing successful development as a company has been evident in our continued core business growth with year-over-year improvement reflecting solid demand for our advanced IP-based solutions,” said Hector Alonso, Global Crossing managing director for Latin America.

Global Crossing’s focus on offering a wide-ranging portfolio of services for both enterprise and carrier customers differentiates it from other providers in one of the world’s fastest developing markets.  The company has a significant presence in Latin America with operations in more than 200 cities, with 15 metropolitan networks and 15 world-class data centers across the region.  Its global reach and focus on meeting clients’ increased range of needs has proven to be a winning combination.

“This year we completed a significant expansion of our IP network capacity due to the growing demand in the region,” said Alonso.  “Additionally, we are expanding our managed services portfolio and implementing advanced services, such as a Unified Security Services Portal, allowing clients to monitor online the status of their security services, interact with specialists and access all Information Security-related data.  The new solutions Global Crossing is launching to the marketplace are designed to position us in a preferred place with those customers interested in state-of-the-art technology and fast capacity growth.”

In selecting Global Crossing for the Best Latin America Corporate Service Award, Frost & Sullivan highlighted the company's position as an expert in IP and network technology and its commitment to deliver a differentiated customer experience.

“This award is evidence of Global Crossing’s outstanding ability to grow in the highly competitive and challenging corporate environment in Latin America, deploying advanced services focused on its clients  satisfaction,” said Marcelo Ruiz Frost & Sullivan Research Director IT & Communications Latin America.  “Global Crossing has leveraged the worldwide experience with a strong local presence in the Latin America region.  With a proven track record of innovation in solutions and service offerings, Global Crossing has achieved success in continuing to increase value to corporate clients.”

Global Crossing has enjoyed a string of accolades relating to its superior customer experience over the last year.  Market research firm Telemark Services’ 2009 Crystal Ball report ranked Global Crossing as having the highest percentage of customers “willing to recommend their current provider” among all the network services providers surveyed.

In November, Global Crossing won the World Communication Award (WCA) for “Users’ Choice” and was “Highly Commended” in the Best Customer Service category.  Also in November, the company won the "Best Latin American Wholesale Offering" award from a panel of industry thought leaders at Capacity magazine's Annual Global Wholesale Telecommunications Awards, and was honored by Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NYSE:NOC) Information Systems Sector with the 2009 Supplier Excellence Award.
