ST Telemedia appoints Terry Clontz as Managing Director, North America & Europe
Terry Clontz, StarHub''s former Chief Executive Officer, assumes the appointment of Managing Director overseeing ST Telemedia''s investments in North America and Europe with effect from January 2010. During his 11 years at the helm of StarHub, Mr Clontz has led the company in a number of major milestones including transformed StarHub from being Singapore''s third mobile player in 2000 to a fully-integrated "quad-play" service provider in 2009; merged StarHub with Singapore Cable Vision (SCV) in 2002; brought StarHub public in 2004 on the main board of the  Singapore Exchange; and advanced StarHub''s market position to become Singapore''s second largest mobile operator in 2005, the same year that it became profitable.

ST Telemedia Companies Win Numerous Industry Accolades
Global Crossing and StarHub end year 2009 on a triumphant note winning numerous awards and recognitions bestowed by industry analysts, publications and valued customers. Both of them were winners in the 2009 World Communication Award which recognises companies and individuals responsible for the innovations, achievements and great new services. Global  Crossing won  the " Users Choice"  Award while StarHub  clinched the " Best Brand" for its FREEDOM campaign.  Global Crossing also won the " Best Latin America Corporate Services Provider of the Year" Award by Frost & Sullivan, " Best Latin America Wholesale Offering" Award by Capacity Magazine and was conferred " Supplier Excellence" Award by Northrop Grumman.
 
Global Crossing continues its winning streak into year 2010,  tying for  First Place for Best Data Value in ATLANTIC-ACM 2010 Global Wholesale Report Card. The report, based on over 1,200 evaluations of global carriers by wholesale customers, is  a critical benchmarking survey for global service provider.

 
StarHub Launches Singapore''s Newest Undersea Cable System, Asia-America Gateway

In December, StarHub achieves a major milestone with the launch of Singapore''s first and only Asia-America Gateway (AAG), a 20,000km submarine cable network system that directly links Asia to the US. Built by a 19-member consortium, StarHub will manage and operate the Singapore-link of the system through its first cable landing station.  Offering greater speed and security, the new network will power the next generation in international connectivity, collaboration and multimedia content. >

StarHub Launches Singapore''s First Blackberry Prepaid Service & MMS Mobile Paper Service 

Once again, StarHub is in the forefront of bringing new value-added intiatives to its customers with the introduction of Singapore''s first prepaid blackberry service and MMS mobile paper service. Called BlackBerry Prepaid, the plan allows StarHub''s prepaid customers to stay connected with their business and personal contacts through email and access a host of mobile data services. Global Crossing employees around the globe and at all levels are encouraged and given the opportunity to give back to their community. Launching its inaugural  Employee Community Day in November, employees were given an extra paid day off to pursue any charitable programme of their interest and choice. StarHub Brings Christmas Cheers to the Needy

StarHub donated $200,000 to Grace Orchard School for intellectually challenged children to help them  develop functional competencies and prepare them to live independent lives,   at Singapore''s Orchard Road Christmas Light-up ceremony. 20 students from the school, accompanied by StarHub employees, also took a walk down Orchard Road to revel in the festive atmosphere.>

StarHub also launch  a StarHub Food First For Families programme, committing $200,000 towards the monthly purchase of essential food items for over 300 needy students from six schools and their families. The launch, held through a Christmas celebration at the Chua Chua Kang Community Club, had StarHub volunteers distributing food packs to the families.
